Cedarville, Ohio-Audience members will be challenged to rethink their perceptions of chastity and the Christian’s interaction with society in an upcoming presentation by nationally acclaimed author and speaker, Lauren Winner. Winner will speak at Cedarville University on Thursday, September 20 at 10 a.m. in the University’s Dixon Ministry Center.

As a former Orthodox Jew and convert to Christianity, Winner provides a unique perspective in her reflections on religion and society. She is a dynamic young author who has thoughtfully engaged her audiences with three books: Girl Meets God, Mudhouse Sabbath, and Real Sex: The Naked Truth about Chastity. In addition to her books, Winner has written numerous articles for publications such as The New York Times Book Review and Books and Culture.

Winner has obtained degrees from Duke, Columbia, and Cambridge universities, and holds a Ph.D. in history. She is a former book editor for Beliefnet and now teaches at the Duke Divinity School.
