Cedarville, Ohio—Did you know that elevators move the equivalent of the world’s population every 72 hours? With over 1.2 million elevators and escalators in operation all over the world, Otis Elevator Company has been contributing to this herculean effort for over 150 years. In the center of it all is Cedarville University alum Randy Wilcox, North and South America Area President for Otis Elevator Company.
Wilcox spoke on Thursday, Oct. 4, as part of the University’s Department of Business Administration Distinguished Business Speaker Series.
According to Dr. Bert Wheeler, department chair, the Distinguished Speaker Series brings prominent senior executives to campus to equip Cedarville business students to serve as successful professionals in the 21st century marketplace. “Through guest lectures and discussion,” shares Wheeler, “we believe students gain valuable perspectives, identify new trends, and consider the latest ideas shaping domestic and international business. We believe, interaction with executives who face these issues daily enriches the educational experience and complements the in-class curriculum.”
Wilcox has been with Otis for 26 years, rising from the position of regional trainee in the San Francisco area to president of South Asia Pacific operations before landing in his current position.
A 1981 graduate of Cedarville University with a degree in business administration, Wilcox also holds an M.B.A. in business administration from the University of Denver.
