Cedarville, Ohio—John D. Beckett, author of “Loving Monday: Succeeding in Business Without Selling Your Soul” and chairman of the R.W. Beckett Corporation, spoke as part of Cedarville University’s Department of Business Administration Distinguished Business Speaker Series on Sept. 9 and 10.

The Distinguished Speaker Series brings prominent senior executives to campus to equip Cedarville business students to serve as successful professionals in the 21st century marketplace.

“It was exciting to have an individual of John Beckett’s caliber mentoring our students for an evening,” describes acting chair of the department of business administration John LeBlanc. “He provided our students with a real-world look at industry and the pressures that accompany running a family business.”

Beckett joined his father in a small family-owned manufacturing business in 1963, becoming president in 1965 upon the death of his father. He is now chairman of the company and has helped guide the business to worldwide leadership in the manufacture and sales of engineered components for residential and commercial heating. The company, with its affiliates, currently has sales exceeding $100 million, with some 600 employees.

Beckett’s first book, “Loving Monday: Succeeding in Business Without Selling Your Soul,” is an account of how he has sought to practically integrate his faith and his work. It is currently available in 14 languages.
