Cedarville, Ohio—Stage makeup, costume changes, applause - all in a day’s work, right? Come explore a career in theatre at Cedarville University’s upcoming Theatre Day on Saturday, Oct. 11.
The event will open with introductions from faculty specializing in all areas of drama, including stage performance, technical theatre, design, dramaturgy and theatre education. You will get an all-access backstage pass to visit the scene shop, makeup studio and dressing rooms; and may also attend an acting workshop.
Current theatre students will answer questions, whether in line at the campus coffee shop or at a Q&A session. The day will close with a matinee performance of “An Ideal Husband” by Oscar Wilde, a comedy filled with political ambition, blackmail, and romantic intrigue.
“You should come find out how lives can be changed through the power of performance and how you can be part of that,” says Dr. Diane Merchant, professor of communication arts.
If you arrive Friday night, you may stay in the University’s residence halls. Parents of participants are also encouraged to attend.
