Cedarville, Ohio—The Cedarville University Distinguished Speaker Series, sponsored by the department of business administration, will be held on September 21. The series, which is free and open to the public, welcomes prominent senior executives to campus with the goal of equipping students and local professionals to become successful in the 21-century marketplace.
Through lectures and discussion, attendees gain valuable perspectives, identify new trends and consider the latest ideas shaping domestic and international business.
“The Distinguished Speaker Series provides a forum to hear testimonies of successful business people’s leadership philosophy,” says John LeBlanc, acting chair of the department of business administration and associate professor of management, “and learn how they incorporate faith-based principles in their businesses, including the gifts and resources the Lord has entrusted to them.”
The first speaker for the academic year will be Clayton D. Beck '81, an international business leader. For over 20 years, Beck has held management positions in Europe and Latin America, and currently serves as director of finance for Sonoco Alcore, a business subsidiary of Sonoco. He is also an active member of the company’s senior management team, working with other leaders in directing the group’s wider business objectives across the U.K., Western and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, Turkey, and into the Middle East.
