On September 21, the department of business administration hosted its annual Distinguished Speaker Series. Clayton D. Beck, international business leader and a 1981 Cedarville graduate, headlined the event. Through Q&A sessions and Beck’s lectures, attendees gained valuable perspectives, identified new trends, and considered the latest ideas shaping domestic and international business.
For more than 20 years, Beck has held management positions in Europe and Latin America and currently serves as director of finance for Sonoco Alcore, a business subsidiary of Sonoco. He is also an active member of the company’s senior management team, working with other leaders in directing the group’s wider business objectives across the U.K., Western and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, Turkey, and into the Middle East.
Each year, the Distinguished Speaker Series welcomes prominent senior executives to campus with the goal of equipping students and local professionals to become successful in the 21-century marketplace.
“The Distinguished Speaker Series provides a forum to hear testimonies of successful business people’s leadership philosophy,” said John LeBlanc, acting chair of the department of business administration and associate professor of management, “and learn how they incorporate faith-based principles in their businesses, including the gifts and resources the Lord has entrusted to them.”
