Building on its national reputation for outstanding scholarship in the health care and science professions, the Cedarville University Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) recently received approval from the Higher Learning Commission of North Central Association of College and Schools.

With classes offered at the beginning of fall 2011, the M.S.N. degree program prepares advanced practice nurses to serve as primary care nurse practitioners, nurse educators and global health ministry nurses.

“We are seeking to work with B.S.N. prepared nurses who are ready to build upon their clinical practice,” shares Dr. Janet Conway, senior professor of nursing and chair of the department of nursing. “As faculty, we will work together with the students to increase the knowledge and skills needed for meeting the demands of both domestic and global health care.”

Cedarville’s M.S.N. degree program provides in-depth, professional and advanced practice study for nurses to expand their knowledge of health care delivery, clinical expertise, nursing leadership, use of evidence based research, and academic scholarship grounded in biblical truth.

At the heart of Cedarville’s nursing program is the deeply rooted desire to prepare nursing professionals who excel in godly living, knowledge-based compassionate care, cultural competence, and information management by using nursing as a ministry for Jesus Christ.
