World renowned author, clinician and pianist Jane Magrath will be visiting Cedarville University’s campus September 24, 2011. In the last 20 years, Magrath has traveled globally, performing and presenting to diverse audiences. She has given presentations at the European Piano Teachers Association Conference, the National Conference on Piano Pedagogy and numerous Music Teachers National Association Conventions. Magrath holds master’s classes and workshops that have caught the attention of musicians around the world.

The Pianist's Guide to Standard Teaching and Performance Literature" has become a popular reference for inspiring pianists in the United States. She has composed more than 35 published volumes of music that are being used world-wide.      

Magrath attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Wesleyan College. She then went on to become the first person to receive a D.M. in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Northwestern University. Currently she is teaching at the University of Oklahoma, receiving numerous awards such as the Regents’ Award for Superior Teaching.

Her presentation will take place in the Dixon Ministry Center, recital hall from 9 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. on September 24, 2011. Magrath will share her experiences and achievements as an author, clinician and pianist and the importance of a Christ-centered life. This event is open to the public, and tickets are on sale for $10 and are only available at the door the day of the event.
