Cedarville’s student government philanthropy committee and class council are hosting The Remedy: A Night of Art, Music and Coffee to benefit the Preemptive Love Coalition (PLC). The event will take place on February 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the atrium of the Center for Biblical and Theological Studies.
The Remedy is a coffeehouse-style silent auction where visitors have the opportunity to purchase student art. The evening will include contributions from over 20 artists as well as food, coffee and live music performed by student musicians. All proceeds from the art auction and food sales will be donated to PLC’s global mission.
PLC provides lifesaving heart surgeries to children in Iraq. Because of chemical agents, depleted uranium and malnutrition, babies in Iraq are born with congenital heart defects at rates ten times higher than world norms. Iraq’s deteriorating medical system cannot provide enough care for the backlog of children who need surgery. PLC has partnered with Cedarville University to raise money for a Remedy Mission, a trip to Iraq to train local doctors and nurses.
