The Cedarville University music department invites you to attend Bach’s Lunch, a series of free noontime concerts featuring a wide variety of musical selections performed by various musicians. Attendees are invited to bring a boxed lunch to enjoy during the recital.

On March 26, Bach’s Lunch presents the Cedarville High School Jazz Band and Choralation in the Dixon Ministry Center Recital Hall. The Jazz Band has earned excellent reviews from local audiences. The high-energy ensemble will perform hard-hitting swing, funk, rock and Latin music. Choralation, an auditioned vocal ensemble, has 31 members ranging from 9-12 grades. The vocal ensemble has earned superior ratings at district and state contests for the past four years. Choralation will perform a variety of choral literature including spirituals, classical, contemporary, pop and Broadway selections. The two groups will split the hour’s performance.

Both groups are directed by Jason Mahan, a ten-year veteran teacher at Cedarville High School. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University and Xenia High School. He also directs the high school choir as well as the marching, pep, middle school and beginning bands. Jason team teaches some ensembles at Cedar Cliff Schools with Brent Fugate, a 2010 Cedarville University alumnus. Jason has mentored six Cedarville University student teachers over the years.
