David Stevens, M.D., Chief Executive Officer of the Christian Medical and Dental Associations (CMDA), will speak during Cedarville University’s morning chapel service on March 14.

Prior to his service with the CMDA, Stevens served as medical director of Samaritan’s Purse. From 1981 to 1991 he served as a missionary doctor at Tenwek Hospital in Bomet, Kenya, where he served as medical superintendent and executive officer. He helped to transform Tenwek Hospital into one of the premier mission healthcare facilities in that country.

Stevens’ experiences provide rich illustrations for his speaking opportunities. His topics include stem cell research, faith and health, physician assisted suicide, abortion and other medically related subjects. Stevens is the author of “Jesus, MD,” co-author of “Leadership Proverbs” and contributor to several magazines and websites.

The CMDA is a national organization of Christian doctors that seeks to change hearts in healthcare. Its mission is to glorify God by motivating, educating and equipping Christian doctors and students to serve with professional excellence as witnesses of Christ’s love and compassion and by advancing biblical principles of healthcare within the Church and to our culture. It provides positions and addresses policies on health care issues and coordinates a network of Christian doctors for fellowship and professional growth.

The morning service will start at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14 featuring Stevens as the keynote speaker. This will be held in the Jeremiah Chapel of the Dixon Ministry Center at Cedarville University. This event is free and open to the public.
