Scott McBride Smith, an international leader in music education, will be the featured speaker at the Keyboard Pedagogy Conference on Sept. 29. The conference begins at 8:30 a.m.in the Dixon Ministry Center Recital Hall at Cedarville University.

Smith will present two workshops at the conference: “Teaching vs. Correcting” and “The Power of Efficient Practice.”

Assistant professor of music and worship Connie Anderson said the conference will provide an opportunity for pedagogy students to interact with local teachers, as well as learn from a well-known authority in their field of study.

“I am thrilled we are able to host this event,” Anderson said. “Our students see Dr. Smith’s name on their textbooks, and now the name becomes a face.”

The event is open to the public. A $10 fee is required and can be paid at the event.
