Illustrator and graphic designer Ingrid Hess will be a guest speaker at Cedarville University on Thursday, Sept. 20.
Hess is well-known in the publishing industry for her expertise in children’s book designs and illustrations. She is an advocate for diversity and uses her illustrations to represent all types of children.
Through her designs and illustrations, Hess empowers children to realize the difference they can make in the world.
Hess brings a unique perspective on working in the publishing industry as she has experience as both an illustrator and communication designer. Aaron Huffmann, assistant professor of graphic design, said, “Students will be inspired by her passion for embracing the power of visual persuasion to improve our world.”
The organization hosting the event is the local chapter of The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), a national organization for student and professional communication designers. Through AIGA, students have opportunities to attend annual conferences, listen to multiple speakers in different areas of the country, and participate in various other events that advance their knowledge of design, its history, and practice. Cedarville's AIGA student group is an active organization and a member of the Cincinnati chapter.
Hess will be speaking in the Cedarville University Center for Biblical and Theological Studies Room 102 at 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
