, an association of private American high schools, will hold its annual Summer English Institute, at Cedarville University
July 11-Aug. 8, 2014. Nearly 200 students from China, South Korea, Brazil, Peru, Italy and Vietnam will spend three weeks on Cedarville’s campus improving their English, getting acclimated with American education and culture, and preparing for the ACT, SAT, and TOEFL standardized tests.
As a result of the Summer English Institute
, students are expected to leave with a better understanding of American higher education. In addition to spending time at Cedarville University, they’ll also visit Stanford, Princeton, NYU, Ohio State, UCLA, and Cal-Berkley.
Isaac Mayuex, adjunct English instructor at Cedarville University, will teach English courses and Cedarville senior Jessica Dyson and 2014 graduate Kristen Day will assist the WAnet staff in a variety of ways. “This is an excellent opportunity for us to use our skills to teach these students English,” said Mayuex. “We will be able to glorify God through our efforts and interactions with these students and hopefully have an eternal impact in their lives.”
