Rebecca Baker

Rebecca Baker

Rebecca Baker, M.A., CCC-SLP, holds master's degrees in dramatic performance and speech pathology. In addition to her teaching and directing responsibilities, she serves as a consulting voice specialist at Community Hospital in Springfield.

Mrs. Baker has performed in three feature films including: Hudson Taylor, Lost in Silver Canyon and Hidden Treasures. Her theatrical experience also includes roles in The Glass Menagerie, Miracle Worker, Henry VIII, Camelot, Oliver, The Music Man, and My Fair Lady.

As a director at Cedarville, she has directed shows including Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Sound of Music, The Music Man, and her most recent production, Steel Magnolias.

She also has directed shows for the Springfield Arts Council Summer Arts Festival, and directs the Ohio Lyric Theatre's annual Christmas pageant.

Mrs. Baker is a licensed clinician with the American Speech-Language Association and is a board member of the Ohio Lyric Theatre.

Donald N. C. Jones

Donald N. C. Jones, B.A., is a member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology. He has served as artistic director, designer, and technical director for more than 30 years in educational and professional theatre.

 

Mischelle L. Mc Intosh

Mischelle L. Mc Intosh

Mischelle L. Mc Intosh, M.A. has master's degrees in Dramatic Productions and Communication Arts. She teaches Fundamentals of Speech, Visual Communication, Documentary Films and senior performance projects.

Her directing experience includes The Diary of Anne Frank, A Christmas Carol, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Crossing Delancey, Little Women, Lost in Yonkers, and Husbandry.

Mrs. Mc Intosh is also involved in directing and producing personal video projects and assists with the direction and videotaping of station programs such as parades for public access television stations.

She is a member of the International Documentary Association and the Society for Cinema Studies.


Diane Merchant

Diane Merchant

Diane Merchant, Ph. D., serves as Associate Professor of Communication Arts. She earned her B.A. in Speech from Cedarville College (1978), her M.A. from Kent State University (1990), and her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University (1996).

Dr. Merchant taught in Elyria, Ohio, for eight years before coming to Cedarville. An adjunct professor when she came in 1986, Dr. Merchant assumed a full-time position at the College in 1989 and received tenure in 1996. She is a free-lance dramaturg and a member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, the Ohio Theatre Alliance, and the Association for Theatre in Higher Education where she has been an active panelist and presenter for national conferences since 1993. She and her husband Mahlon have one son.


Robert L. Clements

Robert Clements

Robert L. Clements, M.Ed., serves as Assistant Professor of Communication Arts. He teaches Fundamentals of Speech, Introduction to Theatre, Play Production, and Scenic Design. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he serves as the Lighting Designer for the productions at Cedarville University. He has over thirty years of experience in theatrical design designing productions such as Lettice and Lovage, Miracle Worker, Arsenic and Old Lace, Lost in Yonkers, The Heiress, Merchant of Venice, Tosca, Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady, Hello Dolly, Annie, and Camelot. He also does freelance design. His scenic, lighting, and costume designs have been used on the church, high school, and university stage. He is a member of the United States Institute of Theatre Technology and CITA (Christians in Theatre Arts.) He and is wife, Ruth, have two children.
