Course Information
Dates: The class is offered Fall and Spring semester. See the calendar for specific dates and times. The class meets for a total of 10 sessions.

This fee includes the cost of the course, and a signing dinner.
Nature of the Course
The purpose of this non-credit course is to introduce students to the basic skills in recognizing current signs used to communicate both expressively and receptively with deaf people. The text "Signing Naturally Level 1" is recommended, but not required.

| Lesson 2 | Exchanging personal information, agent marker, negation |
| Lesson 3 | Talking about surroundings, asking/telling where, correcting information |
| Lesson 4 | Real-world orientation, non-manual markers, numbers 11-15 |
| Lesson 5 | Telling where you live, asking/telling how you come to class, HOW questions |
| Lesson 6 | Real-world orientation, noun-verb pairs, numbers 16-20 |
| Lesson 7 | Talking about your family, asking/telling about marital status, children, and siblings |
| Lesson 8 | Possessive pronouns, negative responses, contrastive structure, numbers 21-25 |
| Lesson 9 | Telling about activities, apologizing, giving reasons and opinions |
| Lesson 10 | A signing dinner |
Registration
Students may register online for this class. Enrollment will remain open until the registration deadline, when payment is due. Any payments after this deadline will incur a $35 late fee.
No refunds will be issued after the registration deadline. If a student wishes to withdraw, they must do so no later than one week before the class begins, in which the course fee (minus a $35 processing fee) will be refunded.
A confirmation of the class meeting time and room location will be emailed to the student the week before the class begins.

Nancy Snook
Nancy Snook teaches sign language at Dayton Christian School. Each January she leads a group of high school students to Jamaica. There, they minister for two weeks at the Caribbean Christian Centre for the Deaf. Miss Snook is a member of the Executive Board for CCCD. She is also involved in her home church and finds that God continues to place interpreting opportunities in her path.
