Women in Business
The Women in Business student organization (WIB) led by President Liz Taylor (2008) coordinated an exciting and informative trip to Chicago. Seventeen WIB members and two faculty, Prof. Anne Rich and Prof. Sue Terkelsen, saw the sights of Chicago and met with CU alumni to learn from their workplace experiences.
The group was invited by CU trustee and 1981 grad, Mary Howard, for lunch and a tour of the manufacturing facilities of her business, Nu-Way Industries, in Des Plaines, IL. The WIB group also met with CU graduate, Andrea Greening Gower (2003 ), as she shared her experiences in Human Resources at Borders Bookstore in downtown Chicago and currently at the Regular Baptist Press. Highlights of the trip included watching the closing of the trading day at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, an architectural boat tour of Chicago, and an opportunity to visit the Chicago Zoo or the Art Museum.
