
The Department of Business Administration would like to announce the development of a new program that recruits and trains a student staff to work one-on-one with faculty to advance teaching and learning with the use of technology. Student Technology AdvisoRS will be assigned one-on-one to faculty members who are undertaking projects requiring technical support.
Goals
- Improve instruction in the Department of Business Administration
- Accelerate the adoption of enhancing technologies
- Enable faculty to appropriately allocate their time
- Develop more student faculty interaction
- Advance student skills in highly valued technologies
Stars
- STARS will be competitively selected from a pool of freshman and sophomore applicants with appropriate academic background and technical inclinations.
- STARS will receive training in the use of appropriate technologies that directly apply to faculty projects.
- STARS will be hired up to 10 hours per week to work on faculty projects.
- STARS will provide the technical support to facilitate the implementation of faculty notions that advance learning.
- STARS and their faculty partners will present the results of these efforts at the end of each academic period.
Faculty Partners
- Identify projects and the necessary skill sets that would advance learning
- Work with STARS to coordinate efforts
- Present the results of each project at the end of each academic period
Implementation
Faculty may make application for a STAR by filling out an application form that explains:
- The nature of the project
- The required skills needed of the STAR
- The time required
Student applicants will be sought primarily from Business Administration majors.
