Grace Church Sunday School Field Experience
Required for credit for EDSP 2050 along with Field Summary Paper (see WEBCT under Directions for Paper).
Choose a slot. You will be required to participate on one Sunday and will stay for BOTH the 9:15 and 10:30 Sunday school hours for that Sunday.You can choose to participate on more than one Sunday if you so choose for extra credit by submitting a proposal to Mrs. Dugle.

Directions: Meet at room 127 (by the gym; the room immediately to the right if you enter the church by the door under the large overhang in the parking lot). You must be on time! Please arrive at least 5 minutes early so that you can have a five- minute orientation to the child and the program. Should you need to miss your Sunday, you must make arrangements with another student in the class (Mrs. Dugle will not make substitute arrangements for you). You must tell Mrs. Dugle of the arrangements BEFORE the change. You will need to make up the day in order to receive credit (so you may switch with someone IF they agree AND you notify Mrs. Dugle.) A miss without prior arrangements will jeopardize your credit for the course.
Rotana will play during the service. Please bring activities for her. She loves to color, trace, and listen to music. She is very energetic and loves to walk. Sometime during the morning, she takes a walk outside, so be sure to dress appropriately! Rotana is 12.
Triplets. Each of the triplets has autism. They are very loving. They do not speak, but do communicate in other ways. They participate in Sunday School with their age-mates, then have a special church time designed specifically for them. They are in 3rd grade.

Directions and specifics for this experience will be given during a following class session. This is the first time that this is being implemented at Far Hills, so there are still a few things to be worked out. However, it is known that Far Hills is implementing an inclusion model, so you will be assisting a child with special needs in a regular Sunday school setting
