Taoism:
¥ Lao Tzu is the founder.

¥ Main idea: finding "the way," the power behind life.
¥ It is felt through intuition.
¥ Emphasizes harmony with nature and stresses the important of good health.

Confucianism:
¥Derived its name from Kongzi

¥ known as Confucius.
¥ This philosophy eventually became a state religion.
¥ Basis is selflessness and the only way to prevent strife was to instill the idea of caring for others.
¥ Family is very important to Confucianism where everyone is compassionate toward each other.
