Topography

Four major sections from west to east:

§ The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is the highest section in elevation in China. It is the tallest and biggest plateau in the world.

§ The second section is the Kunlun and Qilian ranges, made up of mostly plateaus and basins. It is located north of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau's and the Hungduan Mountains to the east. The elevation here drops a lot.

§ The third section is the plains of China. These are very large plains. There are small hills throughout these plains.

§The last section is the continental shelf, where large amounts of mud and sand have been brought by the rivers of China.
