Climate![]()
Japan
is located in the temperate zone. The climate is
controlled by two seasonal monsoons and two Pacific
Ocean currents. These two ocean currents are the
Oyashio and the Japan currents. Another factor of the
Japanese climate lies in the size of the country. The length
of the country causes the north and south ends of the country
to have varying climates. In the north the currents and
monsoons produce cool summers and severe snowy winters.
In the southern portion of the country the currents
create mild winters and warm humid summers.
