Programs of Study
The Department of History and Government offers a Bachelor of Arts degree for the following programs: American Studies, History, History and Political Science, Integrated Social Studies Education, International Studies, Political Science, Prelaw, and Public Administration. Students can also acquire a variety of minors through our department, including History, Political Science, and Public Administration. Every student of Cedarville University must complete a minimum of 128 credits to graduate. These credits include the Major Requirements, the Bible Minor, General Education Requirements, and electives.

American Studies
The American Studies program provides an
understanding of the American culture within the context of a Christian
worldview.

History
The History program encourages students to evaluate the historical narrative based on biblical principle, resulting in an integrated interpretation.

History and Political Science
The History and Political Science program offers a broad background of world history, particularly as it relates to the study of political systems; biblical interpretations of history and biblical bases for civil government are emphasized.

Integrated Social Studies Education
This Integrated Social Studies Education program prepares students to teach social studies in public and Christian schools in grades 7 – 12. Those who complete the
program will be licensed by the State of Ohio and the Association of Christian School International.

International Studies - Social Science
The International Studies – Social Sciences program provides students with a political view of the international community. Utilizing courses from several academic disciplines, it prepares students for a variety of internationally focused careers in areas such as the foreign service, international media, international relations, and missions.

Political Science
The Political Science program is designed to prepare students for careers in public policy analysis, international affairs, various levels of government, campaign management, interest groups, journalism, and many others.

Prelaw
The Prelaw program is designed to prepare students for law school and develop thinking and analytic skills needed to perform well on the Law School Aptitude Test (LSAT) and in law school.
