Undergraduate Admission

Cedarville University welcomes applications for admission from all over the world! International students are those who legally reside and hold citizenship in a country other than the United States of America.

Undergraduate Admission

Cedarville University requires the following of international applicants for degree-seeking undergraduate admission:

  1. Application for Undergraduate Admission
Apply using the online application for international applicants. The $30 application fee is waived for online applications.

Required of all undergraduate applicants, this form may be completed by any church leader holding a position within the church you attend. This form may also be electronically completed. You will be given this option during the online application process.
  3. TOEFL, SAT, or ACT
All international applicants must submit official results from one of the tests listed. Those coming from countries in which English is not the native language may need to demonstrate their proficiency in English by taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Required scores on the TOEFL are a paper-based score of 550 or better, a computer-based score of 213 or better, or an Internet-based score of 80. Cedarville University's institution code for both SAT and TOEFL is 1151. The ACT code is 3245.

All international applicants must submit an affidavit of financial support, along with credible documentary evidence (bank statements, fixed certificates of deposit, etc.) that you have enough readily available funds to meet all expenses (tuition, room, board, etc.) for the first year of study without having to seek outside employment. International students are limited to on-campus employment only and cannot displace qualified U.S. citizens for such positions.

Timeline

International students should follow the University admissions procedure carefully, submitting their application materials well in advance of deadlines so that sufficient time is available for processing and communication. It is recommended that international students complete their application file six months prior to the start of the semester.

Once an international student's application for admission has been accepted, the following process should begin:

  • International student should submit an affidavit of support and a bank statement showing availability of the funds.
  • Cedarville University's designated school official processes the I-20 form and sends it to student.
  • International student takes the I-20 form to the U.S. Embassy in their country where it is either approved or denied that the student can study in the U.S.
