Application Instructions for New or First-Time Graduate Students
These forms may be submitted online, mailed, or faxed. Our mailing address and fax information is included on each form.
- Application for Admission
Read, complete, and return the application. Submit a $30 non-refundable application fee. Send a check or money order made payable in U.S. dollars to Cedarville University. - Church Leader Recommendation
Have a leader at your church who is familiar with your testimony and spiritual development complete and return this form. Recommendations should come from those who have known you six months or longer. Exceptions should be cleared with the office of graduate admissions. - Employer Recommendation
Have your current employer or supervisor complete this form. Whomever you choose must not be related to you. - Professional Recommendation
Have a colleague complete this form. Whomever you choose needs to have known you for at least six months and must not be related to you. - Transcripts
Send transcripts from every college or university you have attended. Your official transcript must indicate the month and date you earned your bachelor's degree. Use a transcript request or similar form to have your official transcript(s) sent to graduate admissions. A transcript request form is available if needed — please contact graduate admissions. - Test Scores
Provide test scores from the Graduate Record Exam (GRE). Please contact the Educational Testing Service (ETS) at www.gre.org to have an official score report sent to Cedarville admissions. Cedarville's institution code is 1151.
- Please note: The GRE is required of all degree-seeking students. However, a student may take up to 12 credit hours before completing the GRE requirement. Students lacking GRE scores may be permitted to take courses under conditional acceptance.
- Test Of English Foreign Language (TOEFL)
International applicants coming from countries in which English is not the native language will need to demonstrate their proficiency in English by taking the TOEFL. Required scores on the TOEFL are a paper-based score of 550 or better, a computer-based score of 213 or better, or an Internet-based score of 80. Cedarville University's institution code for the TOEFL is 1151. - Official academic transcripts of all secondary and post-secondary education.
If the transcripts are in a language other than English, the original transcript must be submitted along with a notarized English translation. - Affidavit of Financial Support Form
All international applicants must submit an affidavit of financial support, along with credible documentary evidence (bank statements, fixed certificates of deposit, etc.) that you have enough readily available funds to meet all expenses (tuition, room, board, etc.) for the first year of study without having to seek outside employment. International students are limited to on-campus employment only and cannot displace qualified U.S. citizens for such positions.

Instructions for Returning Students
Complete only if you have been out of CU graduate classes for more than two years (24 months).
- Complete an Application Update.
- Submit the application along with a $20 update fee. Make the check payable to Cedarville University.
Application Procedure
Your application will be processed and reviewed by the graduate admissions committee as soon as all of the materials are received. You will be notified by letter within two weeks of the graduate admissions committee's decision.
