Semester Programs Offered by the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU)
AMERICAN STUDIES PROGRAM
Make Washington, D.C. your classroom in this interdisciplinary, issue-oriented program that explores the meaning of the gospel for contemporary American life. Here, theoretical meets practical as students combine classroom learning with an internship. ASP is based on the principle of integrating faith, learning and living. Internships are available in congressional offices, social service agencies, think tanks, cultural institutions and many other organizations.
The American Studies Program is designed for juniors and seniors with a wide range of academic majors and vocational interests. At ASP, you can learn to be counter-cultural, to care more for others than yourself.

AUSTRALIA STUDIES CENTRE
Tucked in the heart of cosmopolitan Sydney is the Wesley Institute. Twelve hours of elective courses are chosen from courses dedicated to visual arts, drawing, theater, dance, ethnic music as well as considered choices drawn from youth and urban ministry and theology. Students will also participate in the relief efforts of Wesley Mission in the neighborhoods of Sydney.

CHINA STUDIES PROGRAM
Students in the China Studies Program participate in seminar courses on the historical, cultural, religious, geographical and economic realities of this strategic and populous nation. In addition to the study of standard Chinese, students will assist Chinese students learning English. The program seeks to introduce students to the diversity of China, including Beijing, Shanghai and X-i'an. This interdisciplinary, cross-cultural program enables Christian students to deal with this increasingly important part of the world in an informed, Christ-centered way.

CONTEMPORARY MUSIC CENTER
This program provides students the opportunity to understand the integration of music, faith and business. The CMC offers two tracks: The Artist track is tailored to students considering careers as vocalists, musicians, songwriters, recording artists, performers, producers, and recording engineers. The Executive Track is designed for those considering careers as artist managers, agents, record company executives, music publishers, concert promoters, and industry entrepreneurs. Students receive instruction and experience from a Christian perspective while working to create and market a recording of original music.

LATIN AMERICAN STUDIES PROGRAM
An opportunity to live and learn in Latin America is available to students through the Latin American Studies Program. Located in San Jose, Costa Rica, the program gives students the opportunity to study the language, culture, politics, history, economics, ecology and religion of the region while living with a Costa Rican family. Students also participate in a service opportunity and travel for two weeks to surrounding countries. Specialized academic tracks available to qualified students include Latin American Studies, Advanced Language and Literature, International Business: Management and Marketing, and Environmental Science.

LOS ANGELES FILM STUDIES CENTER
The purpose of the Los Angeles Film Studies Center is to enable college students to serve in various aspects of the film industry with professional skill and Christian integrity. Located in Burbank near major production studios, the semester-long program combines seminar courses with internships in various segments of the film industry, providing the opportunity to explore the industry within a Christian context and from a liberal arts perspective.

MIDDLE EAST STUDIES PROGRAM
The Middle East Studies Program in Cairo, Egypt provides students with the opportunity to study Middle Eastern cultures, religions and conflicts from within this diverse and strategic region. Juniors and seniors participate in interdisciplinary seminar classes, receive Arabic language instruction and serve as interns with various organizations in Cairo. The MESP encourages and equips students to relate to the Muslim world in an informed and constructive manner.

THE SCHOLARS' SEMESTER IN OXFORD
Don an academic gown and prepare for a challenging semester. As a Visiting Student of Oxford University and a member of Wycliffe Hall, live, study, and learn in this historic city. Scholars select one primary tutorial, a secondary tutorial, and an integrative seminar. In addition, Scholars participate in a special lecture programme an attend University Lectures.

RUSSIAN STUDIES PROGRAM
The Russian Studies Program enables juniors and seniors to spend a semester living and learning in Russia. Students study the Russian language and attend seminar courses on Russian culture, history and current political and economic issues. Program participants experience a variety of Russian environments, living for twelve weeks in Nizhni Novgorod and visiting both Moscow and St. Petersburg. The semester includes the opportunity to participate in a service project and to live with Russian families for a portion of their stay.

UGANDA STUDIES PROGRAM
The Uganda Studies Program (USP) offers an invaluable opportunity for studies in and about Africa, for authentic cross-cultural exposure, and for participation in the lively faith and worship of Global South Christianity. Opportunities include academic classes taken alongside Africa students from the Honours College at Uganda Christian University. Students will take courses on the history and culture of East Africa, the religions and traditions of Africa, and African literature, as well as an elective of their choosing. The students will participate together in a faith and practice seminar where they will process and apply their experiences in Uganda. WASHINGTON JOURNALISM CENTER
The Washington Journalism Center is an advanced, experiential semester on Capitol Hill that will cultivate professional news skills and encourage students to think through the implications of being a Christian working in the news media in a city that is home to the powerful and the powerless.
