Minor Description
The minor in TESOL prepares students to teach English to speakers of other languages in multi-age classrooms without obtaining state teacher licensure. Students who complete the TESOL minor are eligible to receive an institution-endorsed certificate. To receive the certificate, a student must earn a 3.0 average for the courses of the minor. Non-native speakers of English must achieve a TOEFL score of 600 or above on the paper exam or 250 on the computer exam and a score of 55 or above on the Test of Spoken English or have department approval to be admitted to the minor.
