Américas Award for Children's and Young Adult Literature - This award has been presented annually since 1993 by the Consortium of Latin American Studies Programs to encourage and commend authors, illustrators, and publishers who produce quality children’s and young adult books that portray Latin America, the Caribbean, or Latinos in the United States.

Asian/Pacific American Awards - These awards
were originally presented bi-annually, beginning in 2004, by the Asian/Pacific
American Librarians Association for books published in the preceding years.

Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards – Several different awards given annually to the creators of outstanding books for children and young adults. From 1967 through 1975, the winning book could be either fiction or nonfiction. In 1976, the two categories were separated.

Buckeye Children's Book Award - The Buckeye Children’s Book Award was begun in 1981. Children across Ohio nominate books for the award, and then vote on the nominated books the following year. The program is designed to encourage children in Ohio to read literature critically, to promote teacher and librarian involvement in children's literature programs, and to commend authors of such literature.

Robert F. Sibert Informational Book Medal - The Robert F. Sibert Informational Book Medal, established by the Association for Library Service to Children in 2001, is awarded annually to the author of the most distinguished informational book published in English during the preceding year. The award is named in honor of Robert F. Sibert, the long-time President of Bound to Stay Bound Books, Inc. of Jacksonville, Illinois, and is sponsored by the company. ALSC administers the award.
