Meet Our Personnel
Janet Conway (Chair)
Dr. Conway serves as Department Chair and Senior Professor of Nursing. She has earned a Diploma from the Hackley Hospital School of Nursing in 1965. She received her B.S.N. from Coe College in 1976 and her M.S. from the University of Arizona in 1979. Dr. Conway earned a Specialist in Clinical Nursing certificate from Indiana University in 1982 and her Ph.D. from the University of Texas in 1988. Dr. Conway has been at Cedarville since 1982.
Lois Baker
Dr. Baker serves as Professor of Nursing. She earned a diploma from Blodgett Memorial Medical Center School of Nursing in 1974. She received a B.R.E. from Grand Rapids Baptist College in 1975. Dr. Baker received a B.S.N.from Nazareth College in 1982 and a M.S.N. from University of Cincinnati in 1984. She also earned a Ph.D.from Wayne State University in 1991. Dr. Baker has been at Cedarville since 1984.
Carolyn Barnett
Mrs. Carolyn A. Barnett serves as Clinical Lab Instructor for senior nursing students. She earned in BSN from Cedarville University in 1986. Mrs. Barnett has four children and she home schools. She and her husband are active in their local church. Mrs. Barnett has been with Cedarville since 1997.
Karen Callan
Mrs. Karen L. Callan, serves as Clinical Lab Instructor, Coordinator of the Skills Lab and Clinical Instructor in Junior level. She earned her BSN from Cedarville University in 1985. Mrs. Callan, her husband, Jon and two children enjoy spending time outdoors on their small farm. Mr. and Mrs. Callan are co-leaders the Youth Group at their church. She has been with Cedarville since 1992.
Linda Cave
Ms. Cave serves as Assistant Professor of Nursing. She received her B.S.N. from University of Northern Colorado in 1981. She earned her M.S. from University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 1983. Ms. Cave has been at Cedarville since 1989.
Sharon Christman
Dr. Christman serves as Associate Professor of Nursing. She received her B.S.N. from Cedarville College in 1992, and her M.S. (1995) and Ph. D. (2003) from Ohio State University. Dr. Christman has been at Cedarville since 1997.
Lois Cross
Mrs. Lois Cross is the Associate Administrative Assistant for the Nursing Department. Lois and her husband Jeff have three children. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, hiking, and sports. She and her family are actively involved in their church working in children's and youth ministries.
Connie Ford
Mrs. Connie Bierly Ford serves as Assistant Professor of Nursing. She received her Nursing Diploma from Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in 1977. She also received her B.S.N. from Xavier University in 1989 and her M.S. from Wright State University in 1992. She completed her second master's in nursing in 2003 as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Wright State University and completed doctoral studies at the University of Cincinnati in 1997-98. Ms. Bierly has been at Cedarville since 1993.
Vicki Hawk
Vicki Hawk is the associate administrative assistant for the department of nursing. She enjoys reading, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and leading women’s Bible studies. She is actively involved in her local church fellowship.
Kimberly Higginbotham
Miss Higginbotham serves as Assistant Professor of Nursing. She received her B.S.N. from Cedarville and her M.S.N./P.N.P. from the University of Virginia.
Chu-Yu Huang
Dr. Huang serves as Assistant Professor of Nursing. She received her A.D.N. from Foo Yin Junior College of Nursing and Medical Technology, her B.S.N. at the University of Dubuque, and her M.S.N. and Ph.D from the Ohio State University. A native of Taiwan, Chu-Yu and her husband, Da-Wei-Liou, find family reunions and travel to be favorite activities. Chu-Yu enjoys singing in her church choir and leading Bible study.
Randall Johnson
Dr. Randall Johnson serves as professor of nursing. He earned his B.S.N. from Cedarville University (1985), M.S.N. from the University of Pennsylvania (1996), and Ph.D. from the University of Central Florida (2007). Dr. Johnson taught for 10 years prior to returning to Cedarville as a faculty member. His wife is also a 1986 graduate from Cedarville's nursing program. He has two very active boys who enjoy football and soccer. Dr. Johnson has been at Cedarville since 2009.
Carrie Keib
Dr. Keib serves as Assistant Professor of Nursing. She received her B.S.N. from Liberty University in 1999, and her M.S. (2005) and Ph.D. (2007) from The Ohio State University. Dr. Keib completed the Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in Aging from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Office of Geriatrics and Gerontology (2007). Dr. Keib has been at Cedarville since 2007.
Mark Klimek
Mr Klimek serves as a Associate Professor of Nursing. He received his B.S.N. from the University of Virginia in 1977 and his M.S.N. from Wayne State University in 1979. He did his graduate study in 1987 at Wayne State University. Mr. Klimek has been at Cedarville since 1983.
Suzanne Lefever
Mrs. Lefever serves as Assistant Professor of Nursing. She received her BSN from Goshen College in 1983, her Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification from Georgetown University in 1991, and her MS from SUNY-Stonybrook in 2004. She and her husband have one son. Suzanne has been at Cedarville since 2001.
Yvonne Lusk
Yvonne Lusk received her B.S.N. from the University of Cincinnati in 1987 and her M.S.N. from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2009. She began working at Cedarville in 2007. Her work experience includes med-surgical nursing, telemetry, home health, and most recently emergency nursing. Yvonne is married and has four children.
Angelia Mickle
Mrs. Angelia Mickle serves as an Assistant Professor of Nursing. She obtained her ADN from Central Carolina Community College in 1991. She earned a BSN in 1999 and her MSN in 2008, both degrees were obtained from Indiana Wesleyan University. She has spent the majority of her nursing career practicing Trauma and Emergency Nursing, including five years as a flight nurse. She served as adjunct-faculty at Cedarville University since 2005 and became full-time faculty in 2008. Mrs. Mickle is married and has 4 children. She enjoys working with the children's ministry at her church and loves being a mother.
Janet Neal
Janet Neal serves as assistant professor of nursing. She received an M.S.N. from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2008 and a B.S.N. from Austin Peay State University in 1983. Janet began working at Cedarville in 2008. She lives in Springboro and enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. Her experiences are primarily in mental health, medical surgical nursing, and home care. She also spent eight years in the Army Reserve. Janet serves as a biblical counselor in her church and enjoys gardening, cooking, and entertaining.
Rachel Parrill
Rachel Parrill received a B.S.N. from Cedarville in 1997 and an M.S. with a concentration in Community Health Clinical Nurse Specialist from Wright State University in 2006. She serves on the missions committee at her local church. Rachel has been at Cedarville since 2005.
Susan Salladay
Dr. Susan Salladay is a Professor of Nursing at Cedarville. Her clinical specialty areas are psychiatric-mental health nursing and clinical bioethics. She writes columns on nursing ethics in both Nursing and Journal of Christian Nursing and has authored many articles and several books in her professional field. Dr. Salladay became a Christian by God’s grace when she was in nursing school. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and pursuing her avocation: breeding and showing purebred Italian Greyhound dogs. Please visit her website at www.resoundinghounds.com.
Sandra Shortt
Dr. Sandra S. Shortt serves as the Wellness Center Coordinator and Adjunct for the Department of Exercise and Sport Science. She earned her B.S. Ed. at Central Michigan University in 1976, her M.S.Ed. in 1978 and her Ed.D. in 1982 at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. She received her CHES credential in April, 2000. Dr. Shortt enjoys singing in the choir of her local church, reading, sewing and hiking. She and her husband, Jeff, another Cedarville faculty member have 5 children. She has been with Cedarville since 1997.
Judith Shrubsole
Dr. Shrubsole serves as an Associate Professor of Nursing. She received a Diploma in Nursing from Hamilton Civic Hospitals' School of Nursing in 1965 and a Diploma in Public Health Nursing in 1967. She received a B.Sc.N from the University of Western Ontario in 1968 and her M.S. in Community Health Nursing from D'Youville College in 1992. She also earned a Ph.D. from Rush University in 2003. Dr. Shrubsole has been at Cedarville since 1992.
Marsha Swinehart
Mrs. Marsha Swinehart serves as Assistant Professor of Nursing . She graduated from Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in 1973 and served six months on the mission field in Suriname, SA. She earned a BSN from Ohio University in 1997 and a MSN from Capital University in 2005. She was employed as a public health nursing in Ross County, OH for 30 years. She has been at Cedarville University since 2008. She enjoys working with children’s and women’s ministries at her church and has accompanied nursing students on mission trips.
Amy Voris
Mrs. Voris serves as an instructor of Nursing. She received her BSN from the University of Cincinnati in 1981 and her MS for Wright State University in 2002. Mrs. Voris is married with 3 children . She enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her family. She has been at Cedarville since 2005.
