To register for an Online Course, you must first be admitted to
Online courses are regular courses-the same as face-to-face courses except for the delivery mode. Therefore, registration for online courses is generally the same as registration for all other courses.
Although online courses are, for your convenience, listed as a group on this site and other places, during the registration process they are integrated with their related department courses. Fall and spring semester course lists are posted online. They are assigned SYN and section numbers just like all other courses. For the summer program, they are grouped by subject and listed under Summer III.
Registration is accomplished by entering the appropriate SYN number in the regular CedarNet online registration process. Fall and spring online courses are included as part of your schedule during the normal registration for those semesters. Summer online courses are registered for in March-April at the same time as registration for the following fall, but are separate and part of the summer schedule.
There is one unique aspect of registration for cnline courses. There is an orientation meeting with the class cohort and professor before the class starts. For summer classes the orientation meetings are normally held the week before finals. These important meetings allow you to meet the professor and cover course login instructions and other important details.
Books and materials for summer online courses must be obtained before leaving campus. They are not mailed to your home!
