Professional accreditation (American Council on Pharmaceutical Education, ACPE) requires that the pharmacy program be organized as a school or college, not a department. Consequently, the school of pharmacy will be led by a dean reporting directly to the academic vice president. Departments within the school will include the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Department of Pharmacology Practice.
By the time the program reaches maturity in its eleventh year, the school will include twenty-five faculty, plus the dean, assistant dean, and two chairs. A nationwide search is now underway for an associate dean and for department chairs for the departments of pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice.
