Why Pharmacy at Cedarville?
Of the 89 schools offering pharmacy in spring 2002, only six have any type of protestant Christian higher education affiliation. They include Samford University, Palm Beach Atlantic University, Mercer University, Campbell University, Wingate University, and Loma Linda University. None are as theologically conservative as Cedarville University. The school's unique stance of embracing the inerrancy and authority of the Scriptures, requiring a profession of faith for students, including a minor in Bible as a part of the required curriculum, offering daily, Christ-centered chapels, and sponsoring an extensive program of voluntary Christian ministries will provide Christian students with a very attractive option to obtain their training in pharmacy. Additionally, the University's excellent science faculty and facilities provide exceptional support to these programs. Cedarville is also distinct in its creationist approach to teaching the sciences.
Cedarville's expertise in the sciences, including the health professions, has characterized the University for more than twenty years. In response to the demand from constituents for a Christ-centered nursing program, Cedarville started a nursing program (BSN) in 1981. When constituents asked for engineering, the University responded with the establishment of two engineering degrees, (BSEE and BSME) in 1990. Computer engineering was added in 2002. Athletic training was initiated in 1994. All of these programs have earned and maintained national professional accreditation by their respective accrediting associations.
