Education
My college-level education began at Northwestern College in Minneapolis, MN where I received a BA degree in the area of music education with a vocal emphasis. It was at Northwestern that I received a solid background in Biblical theology. This background has been the basis for the development of my philosophy of professional counseling which I have used extensively while at Cedarville University. I then returned to my hometown of Waverly, IA where I attended Wartburg College from which I received a BA in biology. After several years of teaching I received an MA degree in counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. After counseling at the high school level for two years I received an NDEA scholarship at the University of Missouri where I received the Ph.D. in Counseling and student personnel administration.
The Lord has blessed me in that I have been able to use all of these areas of expertise in the past thirty years.
