Professional Background

I have an experimental psychology neuroscience background which means that I specialize in the study of the brain and how it controls behavior, thinking and emotions. Do you ever wonder why people act, think or feel the way they do in certain situations or why some individuals express abnormal behaviors? That is what a behavioral neuroscientist like me researches. My doctoral research focused on the study of how sugar (or glucose) is involved in memory processing in mice. My postdoctoral research at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) investigated the effect of enriching the environment with all sorts of stimulating activities on memory and anxiety in mice. Animal neuroscience research gives us great insights into what is happening in the human brain.

As much as I love research, I have a greater passion for teaching. I taught various psychology courses at the University of Ottawa, Canada. Additionally, I served as a psychology instructor at Fresno Pacific University in Fresno, California. I count it an honor and a blessing to be able to teach here at Cedarville University as well as advise senior students in their research projects.
