Biology (B.A.)

The bachelor of arts degree with a major in biology provides general course background in the biological sciences.


Biology (B.S.)

The bachelor of science degree with a major in biology prepares students for graduate study in the biological sciences by including the course requirements prescribed by many of the leading graduate-level biology degree programs in the nation. This major enhances the student's depth of knowledge in biology and increases the breadth of exposure to chemistry, mathematics, and physics.


Chemistry (B.A.)

The bachelor of arts degree with a major in chemistry prepares students for careers in the health professions, technical business professions, and other science related vocations.


Chemistry (B.S.)

The bachelor of science degree with a major in chemistry prepares students for graduate study in chemistry and for careers in industry or research. The degree requirements provide training in each of the primary areas of chemistry with the necessary support in mathematics, physics, and biology.


Chemistry Education (B.A.)

The chemistry education major prepares young people to engage the culture as chemistry teachers in the middle school and high school setting, both public and private institutions. Preparing future educators with a heart for Christ and a high view of God's Word.


Environmental Science (B.S.)

The Bachelor of Science degree with a major in environmental science prepares students with a foundation for entering vocations in ecology, conservation biology, environmental education, environmental consulting companies, etc., and graduate study which is often needed for these careers.


Forensic Science (B.S.)

The bachelor of science degree with a major in forensic science is an interdisciplinary degree that includes substantial laboratory work and an emphasis on advanced coursework in the sciences. It will involve a collaborative endeavor between Cedarville University and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation consisting of a forensic laboratory experience on an internship basis with the bureau.


Geology (B.S.)

The geology major prepares students for graduate studies or employment in a wide variety of geological fields. Skills needed by modern geologists such as observation, interpretation, model analysis, critical thinking and field work are emphasized throughout the program. Opportunities for undergraduate research and publication are available and will be encouraged. The coursework is rigorous and very similar to coursework at other secular, Christian and private schools.The bachelor of science degree with a major in geology prepares students for professional employment as geoscientists and/or for graduate study in the earth sciences.

Our integrated mathematics education program prepares you to teach math in grades 7-12. All of our adolescent and young adult (AYA) programs combine in-class instruction with extensive teaching experience in local schools, preparing you to become a world-class teacher. Because of the outstanding reputation of our science program, when you graduate you will be certified by the Association of Christian Schools International and licensed by the state of Ohio, which enables you to teach in both public and Christian schools nearly anywhere in the world.

Mathematics (B.A.)

The bachelor of arts degree with a major in mathematics provides coursework and training in advanced mathematics. Because of the general nature of this curriculum and opportunity to complement the major with electives from other fields of study, this curriculum provides excellent preparation for graduate study in areas that require good quantitative and/or analytical skills such as philosophy, business, and theology. This liberal arts major also prepares students for a wide variety of career opportunities that require a general bachelor of arts degree. The flexibility of this major enables students to select their mathematics and other electives to meet educational or career goals. Students should include courses in astronomy, chemistry, and physics as general electives.

Molecular and Cellular Biology (B.S.)

The bachelor of science degree with a major in molecular and cellular biology will prepare students for graduate-level training in the context of a broad biological background based in a biblical worldview. This degree will allow our students to become holistically thinking molecular biologists, and will enhance the student’s depth of knowledge in this competitive and growing field.
