Curve Sketching Sites:
CURVE SKETCHING by Ziad Diab, Southwest Texas State University. Uses the tools from calculus to aid in sketching the curve: first derivative, second derivative, asymptotes.Drill - First Derivative Test by Lawrence S. Husch, University of Tennessee. Problems and solutions for the first derivative test, and finding maxima and minima.
CURVE SKETCHING by Sheena McRae, University of Regina, Canada. Loads of example problems thoroughly worked out.
Curve Sketching by M. Bourne. Nice site with lots of graphs to illustrate how to use the tools of calculus.
Curve-sketching: some useful questions by University College London. How to use the information from calculus in sketching curves.
Full Curve Sketching by William A. Bogley and Robby Robson, Oregon State University. Discussion of curve sketching employing asymptotes, continuity, critical points.
First Derivative Test For Local Extrema by Pink Monkey. Nice summary of how the test is applied. See also Calculus Contents.
Second Derivative Test For Local Extrema by Pink Monkey. Nice summary of how the test is applied. See also Calculus Contents.
Karl's Calculus Tutor by Karl Hahn. This is an excellent resource. Go to the Table of Contents at the bottom of the page and find the topic of interest.
Rolle's Theorem and Its Applications This site gives a nice short argument for the validity of the theorem. But be careful when you read it, because the function f(x) looks a lot like the derivative f'(x) (Note the prime on the latter.)
