Stem Cell Research: An informal two-hour discussion between Dr. Sullivan and about 70 members of the public. At the heart of the debate is the question of the moral status of frozen embryos "left over" from reproductive technologies (especially in vitro fertilization). Are these embryos persons, and worthy of protection like other human beings? Or are they a resource for stem cells that might one day show promise for treating a variety of incurable diseases? Are there any alternative sources for such stem cells?
