Program Description

The Sociology program examines the social interaction of individuals in groups, organizations, and institutions while offering excellent preparation for graduate school and equipping students to understand their role as Christians, church and family members, citizens, employees, and students. Particular attention is given to the cultural environment in which people live.

Program Objectives

The objectives of the Sociology Program are:

  1. Identify and describe the nature of society and its effect on individuals
  2. Summarize and discuss the characteristics of diverse populations
  3. Analyze the process of social interaction
  4. Apply the scientific method in the examination of human behavior
  5. Describe each social setting as a web of social forces interacting with each other
  6. Evaluate society and its various components in light of a biblical worldview
