This means that we actively seek to create value (effectiveness), to emphasize stewardship (efficiency), to increase our impact (efficacy) and to sustain our ability to change (emergence). The assessment process underwrites this commitment by providing a unified system that
- Clarifies the performance targets of operating and academic units across campus by clarifying each unit's mission, objectives, and performance benchmarks
- Captures information about success and improvement needs in reaching those performance targets by establishing processes that generate and gather performance information for each unit
- Communicates this information throughout the university community through a variety of print and electronic reports
- Crystallizes plans for improving each unit's performance through reports which analyze performance successes and gaps and articulate changes in operations to enhance that performance
- Coordinates performance improvement efforts through close tie-ins with the university's strategic planning and budgeting process
