Recommended High School Courses

Although Cedarville does not prescribe actual high school course requirements, we recommend that you follow a college preparatory curriculum that includes

  • 4 units of English (grammar, composition, and literature),
  • 3-4 units of mathematics (algebra I, algebra II, geometry, and trigonometry),
  • 3 units of natural science (physical science, biology, and chemistry),
  • 3 units of social studies (history and government), and
  • 3 units of a single foreign language.

If you plan to study engineering, science, mathematics, or nursing, take as many courses in mathematics and science as possible in your high school curricula.

When choosing electives in your secondary education, choose those that develop your interests and skills in the field you are considering for a major.

Keyboarding skills are invaluable for completing many course assignments, and they are particularly important if you are thinking about enrolling in any computer courses at Cedarville. Keyboarding skills enable you to take full advantage of Cedarville's extensive computer resources.
