MIS Germany 2008

Mission

Mission & Ministry

Through the history of mankind, God has used outdoor settings to prepare people for His purposes. God led Moses for 40 years in the desert tending sheep before Moses led God’s people through the wilderness to the Promised Land. Jesus spent 40 days in the wilderness before starting His public ministry and then training and transforming His disciples to change the world.

In July 2008, our team will participate in a short-term ministry serving as camp staff in Kandern, Germany at the Black Forest Academy. Coordinated by Janz Team International, the goal of this camp experience is to teach English to German teens while sharing the gospel of Christ.

German teenagers love to attend camp where they can learn English while growing in their relationship with God. Teaching English at camp provides a practical platform to make disciples by sharing the love of God with young people hungry for the Word of God. Camp provides a concentrated opportunity for spiritual growth while developing life skills through teachable moments.

Please pray for our team as we prepare for service. We have chosen Romans 12:1-2 as our team verses. Because God has been merciful to us, we are offering ourselves as “living sacrifices” of worship and service to God. Through our service at camp, we expect God to transform us, the team, and the campers for His glory. We are also praying that students (of all ages) will develop a servant’s heart and a lifelong vision for missions by serving at camp.

2008 Ministry Dates

  • Field Training in Chicago: Tuesday, July 8th - Saturday, July 12th
  • Camp in Germany: Sunday, July 13th - Sunday, July 27th

Note to Parents

Greetings from the Clines! Thank you for stepping out in faith as you are allowing your student to minister in Germany in 2008. Parents have been and will continue to be a significant influence in our team's support relationships.

As team leaders, my wife and I want to provide you with an overview of the summer ministry as well as information about us. Next to salvation, children are perhaps our most important resource to minister within a fallen world while extending our spiritual and personal legacy. We feel honored that you are entrusting one of God's most precious gifts to our leadership as we serve together in Germany next summer.

Our desire in the days ahead is to establish and strengthen lines of communication with you as supportive participants in the team's ministry. We realize that your student is of legal age and considered an adult. We also understand that guidance does not end when a student is away from home. As you have faithfully invested into your student's life, we want to support your investment. Some of the significant responsibilities we have as team leaders are to protect and lead each team member physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Thanks again for the investment you have made into your student's life. Please feel free to contact us at any time with questions, thoughts, or concerns. As we serve the Lord and the team in the days ahead, our prayer is that we will be found faithful with the trust we've been given (1 Corinthians 4:2).

In His Service,

Curtis and Melissa Cline
