Music and Worship Department - January 9, 2015

Music and Worship Department

January 9, 2015 from 7:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.

We are hosting a two-day workshop featuring the Alexander Technique by William Barto Jones. Jones teaches an extremely free method of singing and piano playing deeply rooted in Alexander Technique. He was highly influenced by the late ground-breaking singing teacher Harold Parker (AT student of Kitty Wielopolska) with whom he studied singing and accompanied his voice studio.

Bill certified in AT work with John Nicholls and Nanette Walsh at ATNYC.

He was a member of the tenured music staff at New York City Opera from 1990-2013 and was a recipient of the L.S.U. Distinguished Pianists" Award. He teaches AT for the Metropolitan International Music Festival and has done workshops for Loveland Opera Theater entitled "Finding Truth in Singing".

This will be required of all music faculty and students.
