Lab Assistant

Computer Lab Assistants are responsible for the oversight of the two computer labs during open hours in the evenings and on weekends. They also serve as help desk support in the IT front office between 8am-5pm and monitor the unattended labs, echecks and CedarPrint stations. The main responsibility of the Lab Assistant is to help students with software problems (including telephone calls and email requests for help). They are also responsible to work with the student computer technicians to ensure the computers and printers are working properly (includes submitting computer service requests)and that the printers have paper and toner (must be able to lift and carry a 50# carton of printer paper). Some lab tracking and reporting required. Training provided. Sophomores and Juniors preferred.

Student Help Desk Worker

The student help desk worker will be responsible for updating and creating computer help pages. Other duties may include updating and helping create documentation and help sheet handouts, assisting with computer training classes,creating custom online training videos, answering help desk phones, and training other student workers. Experience with computers preferred. Good oral and written communication skills required. Candidate will be asked to submit technical writing samples.

Student Network Worker

Student Receptionist

Duties include answering multi-line VoIP phones, transferring calls, greeting walk-in guests, submitting computer service requests, helping with inventory and light clerical work (wordprocessing, update Excel spreadsheets, copying, filing, etc.). Professionalism and good communication skills are required. Some computer experience with Microsoft Office 2010 and Windows 7 is preferred.
