Audio Visual Student Assistant

Responsibilities include setting up appropriate AV and technical equipment in classrooms for faculty use and for events on the University campus, responding to technical problems with the equipment on site. Work hours are primarily early mornings, daytime, and evening: however some weekend service hours are staffed by Student Assistants.

Student Assistant

Student Assistants are responsible for the oversight of the two computer labs during open hours in the evenings and on weekends. They also serve as help desk support in the Information Technology front office between 8am-5pm weekdays and monitor the unattended computer labs, echecks and CedarPrint stations. The main responsibility of the Student Assistant is to help students with technical questions. They also monitor lab printers for paper and toner. Student Assistants must be able to lift and carry a 50# carton of printer paper. Some tracking and reporting required. Training provided. Sophomores and Juniors preferred.

Student Lead

Performs all of the duties of the Student Assistant. Is the senior student worker that supports Student Assistants in the computer labs. Responsible for answering questions from other Student Assistants during evenings and weekends. Helps plan and lead student worker training sessions and other duties as assigned.

Student Network Worker

This student will work with the Network Engineer and Director of Networking to help maintain CedarNet. Jobs will include, but are not limited to: responding to network related service requests; working with network cabling, switches, servers and fiber optics; and maintaining and updating documentation. General computer skills are required. Network training will be provided.

Student Office Lead

All shifts are scheduled between 8am-5pm weekdays in the information technology main office. Primary duties include setting up and maintaining student worker training and assessment through Atomic Learning and Moodle, and compiling quarterly help desk reports using Excel. Additional duties include answering multi-line VoIP phones, transferring calls, greeting walk-in guests, and submitting computer service requests. Professionalism and good communication skills are required. Training provided. Computer experience with Microsoft Office and Windows 7 is preferred.

Student Technical Writer

All shifts are scheduled in the Information Technology front office between 8am-5pm weekdays. This student is responsible for updating and creating computer help pages. Other duties may include updating and helping create new handouts, assisting with computer training classes,creating custom online training videos, answering help desk phones, and training other student workers. Experience with computers preferred. Good oral and written communication skills required. Candidate will be asked to submit technical writing samples.

Student Technician
