Audio Visual Student Assistant

Responsibilities include setting up appropriate AV and technical equipment in classrooms for faculty use and for events on the University campus, responding to technical problems with the equipment on site. Work hours are primarily early mornings, daytime, and evening: however some weekend service hours are staffed by Student Assistants.

Student Assistants are responsible for the oversight of the two open-access computer labs during evenings and weekend hours. Primary responsibilities are to help students and other customers with technical questions as well as monitoring lab printers for paper and toner. Additional duties include driving a golf cart to maintain the unattended computer labs, e-check and CedarPrint stations. Student assistants may also serve as help desk support in the Information Technology front office between 8am-5pm weekdays. IT office duties include answering multi-line phones, transferring calls, greeting walk-in guests, and submitting technology service requests. Student Assistants must be able to lift and carry a 50# carton of printer paper. Professionalism and communication skills are required. Computer experience with Microsoft Office 2013 and Windows 7 is preferred. Training is provided. Sophomores and Juniors preferred.
