Ministry Overview

Open Air Evangelism (OAE), an outreach ministry of Word of Life, exists to bring the gospel to people "where they are" in public places, where they shop, work, play, and live. Through paint boards, rope tricks, and other visualizations, people in urban America are challenged to consider the claims of Christ.

Typical Day of Ministry

  • Breakfast
  • Training in street evangelism techniques
  • Setup and conduct children's programs in housing projects
  • Lunch in the city
  • Setup and conduct adult programs on the streets
  • Dinner in the city
  • Various outreach opportunities on subways, in parks, on ferry boats, in ethnic neighborhoods, etc.

    Costs

    $345 per person

    This cost is based on a team of 8 students and covers housing, meals, and transportation.

    You can ask your church or youth group to help support your costs but, unfortunately, they will NOT be able to receive a tax-deductible receipt. Funds received over and above the support needed by a team member are non-refundable and will be considered overage. Overage will be put directly into the team fund as a whole.

    Dates

    You will leave campus Saturday, March 1 at 8:00 a.m. and return Saturday evening, March 8.
