| A Checklist for Planning and Publicizing a Cedarville University Ministry Team - SEND POSTERS AND FLYERS
Posters, along with a letter of explanation, can be sent to area ministers and youth leaders. You might also consider sending posters to local colleges and high schools with music/theater departments. - SEND PRESS RELEASES AND PHOTO
These are included on this disc and should be sent to local newspapers and neighborhood shoppers. - SEND PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS (PSA)
Also enclosed, public service announcements can be sent to local radio and television stations. (Check with each station to see if they require PSAs more than 2 or 3 weeks in advance.) Do not hesitate to approach radio and television because they are required by law to have a certain number of PSAs and your announcement could be logged. Sometimes follow-up contacts are important when working with the media. Also, live radio interviews could be arranged on the day of the ministry (subject to the travel and performance schedule of the team). - PLACE POSTERS
Possible locations include community bulletin boards, Christian bookstores, banks, libraries, shopping centers, and schools. - MAKE A "VIP" INVITATION LIST
Send special invitations to people in the community who might not otherwise attend. Think creatively of people who might be attracted by this particular ministry. For example, if a drama team is coming, contact the drama teacher at the local high school. - CONSIDER DECORATIONS
Consider how you might decorate your church and/or auditorium for this special event. Something as simple as re-arranging platform furniture or adding greenery can add to atmosphere. |
