High-Performance Network Connections Project Description

Cedarville University is cooperating with Central State University and Wilberforce University in a project which will connect all three institutions to Ohio's new Third Frontier Network. This network will provide gigabit connectivity to most of Ohio's public and private universities.

This HPNC project will enable:

• Connection to the Third Frontier Network in 2004 (a year earlier than would have been possible otherwise)
• Shared instruction in Computer Science, using faculty from all three institutions
• Research into grid computing simultaneously using three 8-cpu clusters
