Used Computer Sales
Cedarville University will be making several used computers available for ordering during April 2008 with pickups scheduled for June through August. Online ordering will be done in three phases:
- sales of 10 or more Windows units (or any quantity Macintosh units) to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations: beginning at 9:00 AM EDT on April 8, 2008
- sales to Cedarville University faculty, staff, and students: beginning at 9:00 AM EDT on April 15, 2008
- sales to individuals and for-profit organizations (if any units remain unsold): beginning at 9:00 AM EDT on April 22, 2008
All orders may be paid at the time of order pickup. We accept cash or checks, but not credit cards.

Disclaimer
Cedarville University is selling these units because of their age. Potential buyers should determine the suitability of these units for the buyers' intended use. All computers will be cleaned and tested prior to sale, but Cedarville University makes no warranty regarding the condition of the systems. Printers will be not be tested nor cleaned prior to sale.
All units are sold AS IS, with no warranty of any kind.

Windows System Description
Most of the systems have the following configuration:
- Equus desktop computer
- Intel Pentium 4, 3.0Ghz processor, or AMD 3000+ Processor
- 1024 megabytes of memory (RAM)
- 200GB hard drive
- CD-RW/DVD drive
- keyboard (various brands), mouse (various brands)
- Windows XP Home Edition, Nero OEM CD creation software, CyberLinkPowerDVD playback software (no other software will be on the system)
- 10/100/1000 Ethernet port
- black case
We will have a few systems available with the following specifications:
- Gateway desktop computer
- Intel Pentium 4, 2.8Ghz processor, 512 megabytes of memory (RAM)
- 160GB hard drive
- 1.44 megabyte floppy drive, CD-RW/DVD drive
- keyboard (various brands), mouse (various brands)
- Windows XP Home Edition, Nero OEM CD creation software, CyberLinkPowerDVD playback software (no other software will be on the system)
- 10/100/1000 Ethernet port
- black case
The Equus units were installed during the summer of 2005 and have been used in laboratories, student residence halls, and offices. The Gateway systems were purchased in 2004.
The systems will be loaded with Windows XP Home Edition, software for burning CD media, and software for playing DVDs...but will not have any other software. Purchasers would need to obtain their own word processor, spreadsheet, etc. as appropriate for their needs.
The systems include an Ethernet port. This port can be used to connect to broadband service at home (such as TimeWarner RoadRunner). To make a dialup Internet connection from home with one of these systems, the purchaser would need to buy a computer modem from a retail store.
The monitors which we have available are 15" LCD units (various manufacturers). The monitors vary in age (3-6 years old). Most of the monitors are black in color, but we will also have a few beige units available.
We do not have any notebook systems available for this sale.

Macintosh System Description
The Apple Macintosh systems have this configuration:
- iMac G5 (built in 17" LCD monitor)
- PowerPC processor at 2Ghz
- 1024 megabytes of memory (RAM)
- 160GB hard drive
- keyboard, mouse
- OS X operating system (version 10.4)

Pricing and Availability
Systems are available for pickup on the scheduled dates only. Units must be picked up by the purchaser as no shipping services are available. Buyers will need to provide their own cushioning, cartons, etc. for transporting the systems. Cedarville University will not be responsible for damage which occurs during transport.
Orders not picked up on the appointment date will be released to other interested purchasers.

- $4 for each Hewlett Packard 1210 printer/scanner/copier (with cable)
- $450 for each iMac G5 (PowerPC processor), 2 Ghz, 17inch LCD
"Original Quantities" are estimates and may be revised as our technicians evaluate our inventory.

When submitting an order, you will be asked to select one of the following dates/times for picking up your order. Depending on other orders that have already been placed, some of the dates/times may not be available. Only the available dates and times will show when you reach that point in the ordering process.

Ordering Procedures
The sale will be conducted in three phases. We will open the sale first for sales of 10 or more units to non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations (schools, churches, etc.), then to Cedarville University students, faculty, and staff. If any units remain available after these two sales, we will accept orders from individuals and from for-profit organizations (businesses).

Interested buyers should complete an online order form.
Used systems will be allocated according to the date the completed order form was received. Payment may be made by cash or check (no credit cards) at the time the systems are picked up. Sales are subject to 6.5% Ohio and local sales taxes unless the buyer is exempt from these taxes.
