Selection and Nomination Process:
Step 1: Nomination
To be considered for Music Showcase, students must be nominated by their band, choir, or orchestra director or by a private music teacher. Nominate students online or print a copy of the form.
Nomination deadline: November 17, 2008
Step 2: Selection
Cedarville music faculty will review all nomination forms and select students for the honor groups. Selections are based upon each musician's abilities and accomplishments as well as the musical needs of the honor groups. In December, we will mail registration packets and rehearsal music to all selected students and their directors.
Step 3: Registration
The non-refundable $85 Music Showcase registration fee covers all meals, housing, an event T-shirt, and all other Music Showcase activities. Registration will be open from Monday, December 8, 2008, until Friday, February 6, 2009.
Who?
Exceptionally talented high school musicians from across the nation.
What?
Music Showcase weekend at Cedarville University develops and "showcases" high school musicians by participation in the Honor Band, Honor Choir or Honor Strings.
When?
Thursday, February 19 at 3 p.m. through Saturday, February 21 at 4 p.m.

Cedarville University, Cedarville, Ohio
Cost?
$85 per student, includes all meals, housing, an event t-shirt, and all other Music Showcase activities. Registration fees are non-refundable after February 5, 2009.
Medical Release Forms:
To enable us to care for medical needs that arise during Music Showcase, each student must bring a medical release form signed by a parent or guardian when they come to campus. Print the medical release form now.
Travel Information:
If you plan to travel by air and need transportation to and from the airport, please email Event Services with your flight information and cell phone number by Friday, February 12, 2009 to schedule shuttle service. We provide roundtrip shuttle service from the Dayton airport for $45 and from the Columbus airport for $80.
PLEASE NOTE: We will not be able to provide shuttle service for those who contact us after February 12, 2009.

What to Wear:
For rehearsals and other activities, modest casual dress including nice blue jeans or khakis and nice shirts or sweaters is acceptable.
For the Honor Concert, women should wear a dress, or skirt and blouse (preferably mid-calf length). Men should wear a dark suit, or coat and slacks, dress shirt, and tie.
Music Program
