Purpose Statement

To be a team of knowledgeable Human Resources professionals that support the University's administration, faculty, and staff through Human Resources Management (HRM) advice and assistance, enabling them to make informed decisions that maximize the University's most important asset: its people.

This purpose is accomplished through the following six key HRM functional areas:

  1. HRM Planning: to identify and examine current and future internal and external forces that impact Human Resources Management
  2. Staffing Services: to supervise the total hiring process of staff personnel
  3. Employment Services: to assist, guide, and communicate with faculty and staff in addressing employment-related issues
  4. Compensation Administration: to manage a pay and benefit program that is a factor in attracting, retaining, and rewarding employees
  5. Policy and Information Management: to maintain a policy and information system for managing personnel matters in line with current employment laws
  6. Work-Life Assistance: to develop and improve the quality of the University staff spiritually, professionally, and personally that enhances the health and productivity of the workforce
